In
major step towards doubling the income of farmers in the state, uttar Pradesh
govt has announced its maiden agriculture export policy, 2019. It will target
to augment farmers’ income and promote export of agricultural commodities by
2014 with the help of farmer producer organizations and various steps like
giving incentives and promoting startups.
Govt
had for the first time decided to allow procurement of paddy from contract
farming and sharecroppers with certain riders to ensure payment of minimum
support price to genuine farmers.
